Fitness and gaming industry in a huddle

by James Cook

The dream of the forty year olds to play the video games with the same zeal as the young teens is being realized. The realization of this dream has been brought up by the Wii Fit. Wii Fit is another game from the manufactures of popular Wii from Nintendo. They got this idea of a balance board from the Sumo wrestlers of Japan.

Wii is already a rage and was popular among the young ranging from five year olds to twenty year olds but now it has Wii Fit which helps easily the mid age players to enjoy the game as well move off the couch and do some physical activity.

The Wii fit has about 40 different games ranging from yoga, skateboarding and various balancing exercises. These are all exercises which can be done by standing on this balancing board.

The good part is that you are not alone and it has an interactive character called Mii which keep telling you to lose more weight and also helps you reach your goal.

To do the exercising correctly there is a trainer which helps you to train better and also helps you to have a better understanding of the games.

As a society the older generation is also embracing this game and specifically the old age homes have been actively buying this. The industry is terming it as Wiihabilitation.

It is this aspect of the gaming system that has propelled it into the cult status and has left its competitors far behind. In fact nobody thought that a simple blue tooth technology could result in such a gaming invention that entire nations are jostling to get their hands on the product.
